Youth |
Our youth are not merely the "future of the Church." They are the Church today, and they will be Christ's eyes, ears, and hands in the coming years. We foster programs that will challenge them to consider the Christian life seriously, test their faith, and provide them with the fun and support of a Christian fellowship.
Sunday, April 13, 2008 our Pre-K Sunday School program will
begin.
One of the
Vestry goals for 2008 was to restart our education programs.
Starting with our youngest members, St. Timothy's will now
provide a special class in the newly remodeled nursery
during the first part of the service with the children
rejoining their parents at the Peace. Preschoolers,
ages 1 to pre-K, are invited to participate in these Sunday
School activities.
Volunteers
working on a rotating basis will offer lessons geared for
preschoolers. Sheryl Otter and Elaine Braverman will
provide the curriculum and are signing up volunteer helpers.
Our desire is
that even our youngest members can experience the warmth of
God's love and learn more about Him.
THE YOUTH GROUP:
The Youth Group of St. Timothy's Church consists primarily of high school age teens. They meet
in the Youth room on Sundays following the 9:00 A.M.
Service and plan a variety of programs and
activities throughout the year.
DIOCESAN YOUTH MINISTRY:
Our diocesan youth ministry is active throughout central and southern Indiana. At
various times throughout the year, the diocese sponsors New Beginnings Weekends for junior high ages and Happening
Weekends for high school ages. These are like renewal retreats. They help the youth integrate their faith within a loving
community environment. At various other times, Diocesan Youth Events are held during which all the youth are brought
together for a single day event.
WAYCROSS CAMP & CONFERENCE CENTER:
Waycross is our diocesan summer camp. Sessions are held for
all ages from mid June through early August. It is located in scenic Brown County. It is a wonderful place to experience
God in creation and in each other.
