New business
Goals for 2008 – Elaine will be in charge of the prayer chain; Chris and Sheryl will help formulate adult education and Sunday School classes this year; Elaine, John and Sheryl will develop a nursery schedule.
Parish 50th Anniversary – some discussion was held about the actual anniversary year and it was decided that we will recognize the parish’s founding this year, with confidence that a year’s worth of special events will capture our sense of thanksgiving and pride and prepare us to step into the future.
Good news – The Rev. Robin Myers’ contract will be renewed for 6 months, with his vacation and education time coming up soon.
The Bishop and Canon to the Ordinary have been in contact with the parish to announce that a recently ordained priest will be provided as assistant to Fr. Robin and serve half time at this parish and at another parish, with significant financial support provided by the Diocese. The wardens will explore contract negotiations. The Vestry expressed great pleasure and thankfulness.
Chris mentioned that St. Timothy’s Day is Jan. 26 and will recognized Jan. 27. She mentioned that charter members will be recognized at the annual meeting.
The Shrove Tuesday pancake supper is at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 6.
