SPECIAL MEETING

A special meeting called to discuss the assisting priest’s salary, hours and budget impacts

Present

Chris Large, senior warden; Chuck Nemeth, treasurer; Judy Champa; Liz Manning; Kitty Herndon; Elaine Braverman; Jane Bostwick; Steve Polston; John Kurek.

 Call to order:

Chris called the meeting to order about 10:25 a.m.

 Judy Champa asked if we could keep The Rev. Kirsteen Wilkinson with more hours.

 Chris said that the budget is unknown, but 15 hours is not enough hours for Kirsten to get to know us and she recommended 20 to 25 hours a week.

 Chris said that education, pastoral care and newsletter are part of Kirsteen’s responsibilities.

 Judy motioned that the vestry hire Kirsteen for 25 hours a week; Elaine seconded.

 Elaine said we need to hire Kirsteen to work more hours so that she could get to know us. She asked how Kirsteen’s internet and computer connections were working out.

 Chuck said that we could afford 25 hours a week through the end of the year and the unknown is what the Diocesan budget committee would give to the parish.

 Chris said that Canon Peder Berdahl recommended the Mission Strategy Committee increase our allotment to $20,000 for next year.

 John Kurek asked to clarify “Mission Strategy” and “assessment.”

The motion was approved.

 Chris said she will work with Kirsteen and the Diocesan office to draw up a contract.

 Adjournment was at about 10:50 a.m.
